The A.P.State Seeds Development Corporation Ltd., Nellore was started as a Sale Counter on dt.31.12.1983 with the motive to serve the farming community under the control of Srikalahasti Unit. As day to day business was increased, we have started Production Programme individually after detaching from Srikalahasti Unit. A Seed Processing Plant was also established during the year 1991 in a hired godown and then shifted the Processing Plant-cum-godown to Auto Nagar, Nellore which belongs to Department of Handlooms & Textiles during March 1996 and constructed own godown at the same site during 2016. The godown was handed over to APSSDC Ltd, Nellore on April 2016. From April 2016 we are having own Autonagar Godown and using for seed storage cum Processing plant . In SPSR Nellore district, we are mainly producing local paddy varieties i.e., NLR-34449, RNR-15048 and other short duration varieties to meet the needs of district farmers and neighboring district farmers. The existing own Godown located at Auto Nagar, Nellore is having an area of 20,610 Sq ft. is using for storage of seeds and material. We request to erect new processing machinery for timely processing and arranging payments to the seed growers at this Godown. We are distributing the subsidy seed through 52 Primary Agriculture Co-operative Society (PACS), 6 Managromore Centres (MGC), 2 Co-operative Rural Banks and 3 Mandal Agriculture Officers in 46 Mandals of SPSR District.
